Making matching Christmas pajama pants for the kiddos. Such an easy project -- why haven't I done this before? -- and soon to be crossed off the list of 33 things. Listening to the last episode of Serial and having mixed feelings about it. Eating all of the Christmas cookies I made on Sunday. Well, maybe not all of them, but too many. Going to as many yoga classes as I can fit into my schedule. I started going earlier this month when an injury made going to Body Pump impossible. I am …

November in Film
I had hoped to share these photos two weeks ago. But when I dropped my 120 film off at the local camera shop, I learned that they no longer process 120 film in house and it had to be shipped off somewhere. Oh, and it was going to cost about five dollars more. Not awesome news, but I did finally get my film back this weekend and I kind of like it. Truth be told, the first two photos in this roll had already been shot and I couldn't even remember when (turns out it was over the summer). So, I …
What I Read | November Edition
The four books I read in November put my 2014 tally at 49. Only three books left to reach 52! Totally doable, but I'm still a little nervous about fitting it in. It's December, after all.* Here are the books I read in November: The Middlesteins by Jami Attenberg | A family comes to terms with the mother's morbid obesity and how it is destroying her health and life. Each chapter jumps from present to past, with the present chapters each taking a new character's perspective as that part of …
Letter Writing
It's hard to believe that I've spent the last three years writing letters. Once I joined the Letter Writers Alliance and found a kindred spirit in my pen pal (read more about that here), I was hooked on snail mail. And why not? Sending a letter is a wonderful, slow, reflective thing. It forces me to slow down, take inventory, figure out where I am. Though, I'll admit to not always knowing what I plan to share before I start writing or planning to say something and sealing the letter before …
What I Read | October Edition
As part of my list of 33 things to do before I turn 34, I plan to read 33 books. It's not an extreme challenge since the five books I read in October put my 2014 tally at 45 (somehow my reading this year has me on track to read at least 52 books -- insane!). But my reading goals for 2015 are to slow down and read some longer books, so I don't expect to keep up my 2014 pace. At all. Once I realized I was on track to actually finish the equivalent of a book a week this year, the pressure to read …
