lindsay crandall photographyreading: The Goldfinch. It may just be the only book I read this month, which feels so weird (and will make for a short what I read post).

playing: The Lumineers station on Pandora almost all the time.

watching: The last season of The West Wing with Adam, and wondering what we’ll watch next. Thank goodness our current shows are coming off hiatus soon.

trying: The Garmin Vivofit. My neighbor decided he didn’t like his, so he gave it to me (yes, gave it to me). So I’ve been tracking my steps and my sleep, and I’m sort of fascinated by the whole thing but I’m not sure it’s going to stick.

lindsay crandall photographyeating: No sugar for another eight days.

drinking: No alcohol for another eight days.

emailing: A friend almost daily as we try to coordinate a forthcoming collaboration. More on this soon!

texting: My mother-in-law to ask her to come to a yoga class with me.

crafting: I am going to knit another Burton Bear Cowl for Lily and plan to cast on this weekend. If I really try, I may be able to finish the whole thing before Monday.

doing: A lot of swimming with my kiddos. They both beg me every day to take them to the Y, but we go once or twice a week to swim.

lindsay crandall photographyloving: ColorColourLovers. This week it’s all about the red (next week, it’s yellow)!

hating: The frigid cold temps (even if it is beautiful). It just makes winter a million times worse.

discovering: A new Instagram hashtag — #betterwithbooks! My friend Erin started a community for book lovers on Instagram this week, and it’s already gaining momentum.

lindsay crandall photographyenjoying: Walks around the block, despite all the ice.

hoping: Things come together on a few projects I’m working on. I’m excited and nervous, but I’ve been working with some amazing people.

considering: All the ways fearless is already deeply affecting my year.

finishing: Every yoga class with gratitude, knowing I did my best.

starting: A list of books to read this coming year. An ambitious list (of course)! Keep any eye out next week.

The Burton Bear Cowl is precious! I wish it came in adult sizes!

Can’t wait to read your list of books. I start my TWO new book clubs next week and am very anxious!

I’ve been much like you in the reading category…. started out the month with grand ambitions. Really thought I was in the mood to read a few novels or memoirs, but it’s nearly the end of the month and I’ve not finished one book. It’s turned into a month of magazine grazing and thumbing through cookbooks. Which reminds me…. I’ll try picking back up with “Poser,” so I can send you my copy to borrow. Love the Lumineers, too… Jealous that your Y has a pool (ours doesn’t).

I think I’m just burned out on reading. Last year was too much! Maybe I need a good trip to the library. I’m excited to read Poser — it’s on my list for this year. And I’m sorry your Y doesn’t have a pool. Ours has two, actually — a lap pool and a family pool (it’s 3-4 ft) and I can’t imagine I’d every take the kids if it weren’t for the family pool!
