October in Film

November 3, 2014

I’ve had this roll of film in my camera since the summer, but didn’t shoot it until last week. Why? I was too distracted with my photography business. Most of my photo taking was for clients, and when I did shoot for myself, I didn’t have the patience for film. Which is so sad because I love film (remember when I did a film 365 in 2012?).

One of the reasons I love film the most is one of the reasons I didn’t shoot any this summer — there is no editing involved. When I used to shoot tons of film, I chose that medium because it didn’t require sitting at the computer for hours on end tweaking white balance and brightening skin tones. Film just is what it is. I like that. A lot. But this summer, I was working hard to get better in Lightroom. I needed to shoot digital images and edit them. Practice makes perfect, right?

But it is with great joy that I shot this roll for October (roll 1/12 for my 33 things). This is part one, because it was a great roll and 36 images is a lot, all shot on a gloomy Sunday in a park around the corner from my house.

Thanks for looking!
