These three books rounded out 2014, the year of reading all the books. Here’s what I read in December:
Show Your Work by Austin Kleon | I loved this book! Earlier this year, I read Kleon’s Steal Like an Artist, and I didn’t love it. But this one was great. Kleon writes about showing your process as you work, what you’re learning or doing. Whatever it is, show your work! It was incredibly freeing for me and radically changed how I consider my process. I highly recommend this one to creative types (and anyone else who’s interested)!
Yes Please by Amy Poehler | I had high hopes for this one, and I continue to read rave reviews. But I didn’t love it like I hoped. Some of it made me laugh out loud, and some of it felt very true, but I finished it feeling less than impressed. I’m still trying to work out why.
Bedknob and Broomstick by Mary Norton | I read this one to Lily (of course!). It was a challenging book for her to listen to and understand, but we liked it. Then, we watched the Disney movie that I remember watching as a kid (with Angela Lansbury!), which was a lot of fun!
*As part of my list of 33 things to do before I turn 34, I plan to read 33 books. This month makes 11/33.

That is impressive 52 books. I need to read the Kleon books…off to add them to my goodreads now.

Yes, the Kleon books are very good! I love his perspective. 🙂
